Author Diane Murphy

Diane Murphy currently serves as President and CEO of the Aquarius Group, a private consultancy. For more than 15 years, she served as Chairman and CEO of Federal City Communications Corporation, a firm she founded in 1987, with a solid client base of: Motorola, Iridium, BT Broadcast Services, Lockheed Martin., National Air and Space Museum, IMAX , Earth Observation Satellite Company, Northrop Grumman, INTELSAT, WorldSpace, Ibiquity Digital Radio, Army Times Publishing, Complete Energy Systems, E-Green Technologies, and the Rocket Racing League. In the mid-1990s, she consulted for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), organizing US media operations for ‘Partnership for Peace.’ Murphy also has served as Vice President EADS North America, Northrop Grumman, and SpaceX - world leaders in aerospace and defense, and Executive Vice President of the X PRIZE Foundation, a non-profit successfully using incentive competitions to create innovative breakthroughs in exploration, life sciences, education and social entrepreneurship. Murphy is also a member of the National Press Club and serves on the Board of Trustees of the X PRIZE Foundation, California Space Authority, Dashew International Center for Students and Scholars at UCLA, and most recently was named chairman of the marketing communications committee for the American Diabetes Association of Los Angeles. She also supports entrepreneurial youth efforts through Youth Service America and the Kairos Foundation. Murphy was educated at Friends Academy, Locust Valley, NY, Northwestern University, and studied in the former Soviet Union, before receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in International Relations from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. She currently resides in Manhattan Beach, Calif. and Washington, DC.
