Q&A Information

How To Answer Questions

  1. Click this link to login: http://theyec.org/members
  2. Login using this info
  3. Username: LAST NAME/FIRST INITIAL (e.g. GerberS)

    Password: default123 (unless you changed your password previously in WordPress)

  4. Once logged in, click Q&A >> Answer Questions in the left pane on the site. The Question List will appear on screen.
  5. Scroll over each question you want to answer and click Answer the Question when it pops up on screen (If you do not want to answer a question, please check Prefer Not To Answer and it will disappear from the screen)
  6. Fill out the title section and the answer section. Note: please make sure you make the title captivating, interesting and sums up your answer as it will be used as a stand alone to present your answers on Twitter and other social media platforms. (e.g. Good: Sell with a 2-for-1 strategy. Bad: How to sell.) For examples of a column with great titles, click here.
  7. Once you answer a question, hit save changes. As you answer questions, they will become highlighted in green on your Question List. You may edit them at anytime before the deadline by mousing over them and hitting Edit Answer. If questions are nearing the due date and remain unanswered, they will become highlighted in yellow.

Titles to your answers should:

  1. Be compelling and clever
  2. Be able to stand alone in a tweet and engage a follower to click to read the full tip
  3. Serve as a summary for the tip
  4. Action based
  5. Not top # lists nor repeating the question
  6. Titles should not include symbols in place of words (e.g. “&” instead of “and”)
  7. Always check your work for spelling and grammar before you submit.
  8. Do not write in all CAPS

Examples of good titles:

  • Be the king of your domain name
  • Say what it is, do what it says

Examples of bad titles:

  • Picking domain names
  • Domain names
  • 4 tips for selecting domain names
  • How to select a domain name

Your answers should adhere to the following rules:

  1. Only write one tip and expand upon it completely. Do not offer multiple tips in one answer-only the best one (e.g. no numbered lists). The only time you should use a numbered list in an answer is to describe the steps within a process or to better define an overall point.
  2. Whenever possible, back up your tip with relevant examples or tool suggestions.
  3. Do not plug your own company in an answer unless it is to make an exact point.
  4. Answers should not include symbols in place of words (e.g. “&” instead of “and”, or “$” instead of “money”)
  5. Always check your work for spelling and grammar before you submit.
  6. Answers must be written in complete sentences
  7. Avoid overly discussing your background/personal life unless it directly correlates to the answer
  8. Do not create lists or bullet points. Everything must be in paragraph form
  9. Do not write in all CAPS

How To Update Your Bio Or Change Your Password

  1. Login to the website.
  2. Once logged in, click Profile/Your Profile
  3. Edit your profile and save changes. Note: you cannot edit your photo. To change your photo, please email us the new image.

*****General note: when you first log into the system, please make sure that 1) your company name is filled out and 2) your bio is correct with no grammatical errors.
