Tom Walter, CEO of Chicago area based Tasty Catering, has been a food service and real estate entrepreneur for more than 40 years. He has started 28 businesses and acquired three. He is still active as a principal in seven of those corporations. Five of those companies are start-ups by Tasty Catering staff who are shareholders. Three staff are the CEO’s of those companies. Tom has given presentations about corporate culture, leadership, brand image and corporate sustainability. Some recent awards follow: Inc. Magazine and Winning Workplaces Top 20 Small Workplaces Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics CaterSource Magazine’s Midwest Catering Excellence Award Illinois Caterer of the Year by Illinois Meeting and Events Magazine. Catering Magazine's Caterer of the Year Best Places to Work in Illinois - top five finishes in the past four years, taking #1 in 2008 and 2009. Wall Street Journal and Winning Workplaces Top Small Workplaces in 2008 and 2009. Tom serves on: DePaul Univeristy's Marketing Advisory Board and the University of Illinois-Chicago's Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies Tom is a member of the Academy of Management’s Entrepreneur Division and the Chicago Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame.
